Tori Johnson constructed this strikingly placed sculpture from virgin Eureka redwood, and intended it to appear as the entrance to a temple. Tori has multiple cultural referents, the shape itself echoes the symbol for pi while the title has meaning in Chinese as well as Japanese, in which it translates as "a landing place for birds".
