Set against the tranquility of Djerassi’s redwood groves and scenic grounds, this welcoming, beginner-friendly workshop is open to all who are curious about writing and movement, offering a gentle and inspiring introduction to these creative practices.

About Lucas Baisch & Audrey Johnson
Lucas Baisch is a playwright and educator from San Francisco. His plays have been developed at the Goodman Theatre, The Playwrights’ Center, The Magic Theatre, The Bushwick Starr, the Mercury Store, Playwrights Horizons, Clubbed Thumb, etc. He is a recipient of a Steinberg Playwright Award, the Princess Grace Award, and a Jerome Fellowship, with plays published by Bloomsbury/Methuen Drama, Yale’s Theater Magazine, and 53rd State Press. Lucas is interested in waste, systems, excess, scale, languages that gather, and words that decompose. He holds an MFA from Brown and is pursuing a PhD at Stanford.
Audrey Johnson is a dance artist with roots from Detroit, Michigan/Anishinaabe land, currently based in Oakland, CA/Ohlone land, who experiments with improvisation, plants, and embodied time travel. Her performance work has been presented across the San Francisco Bay Area and Detroit, and she has danced in the companies of artists Gerald Casel, Jennifer Harge, Biba Bell, Detour Productions, among others. She holds a BFA in Dance from Wayne State University, and was a co-founder of Collective Sweat Detroit.
