Harvested clay

This cluster of several hundred ceramic objects was inspired by some of Earth's first life forms, resilient organisms which emerged 3.8 billion years ago in the scalding waters of deep sea vents. The clay was collected from San Gregorio Creek, where the waters of Harrington Creek become the Pacific Ocean. Image credit Tanja Geis.
