Yusuke Toda


Pine wood, manila hemp rope

While visiting Djerassi, Toda was amazed by the difference in the area’s environmental processes compared with those in his native Japan. Carved from a 10-foot redwood log, Contemplator was placed in the forest to gauge the rate of decay specific to this location.
