Biography
Anna Sidana is a visual artist and large-scale oil painter. Anna’s art explores an emotional connection with her family history and heritage. Carried away by the pull of society, and as an immigrant, she felt disconnected from her culture.
Searching for a connection, Anna stumbled upon hazy childhood memories of playing hide-and-seek in the mango orchards amongst peacocks and running free in the cotton fields at her family farm in Rajasthan, India. Those memories became a source of inspiration and a central theme in Anna’s work. Straddling abstraction and representation, Anna seeks to engage the viewer in an enchanting and make-belief emotional place rather than laying bare the harsh realities of life. Anna is an award-winning artist who has shown her work twice at the de Young Museum of San Francisco, Marin Museum of Contemporary Art, The Diego Rivera Gallery, and Times Square, New York amongst others. She has participated in Solo shows, was selected for the London Art Biennale and has participated in several prestigious, and global Artist Residencies.
Anna is represented by the Pamela Walsh Gallery, Palo Alto, CA.
