Heran Abate is an Ethiopian writer whose practice is deeply rooted in archives and oral testimonies that reveal stories often at the fringes of history and literature. Her writing appears in Africa Is A Country, New Short Fiction from Africa and Redemption Song & Other Stories. She is the recipient of an Emmy for “The And”, a short film series she co-produced. She holds an MFA from The New School and lives in New York.
